Highlighted session about the international success of THE WITCHER
Without the help of investors or great marketing budgets, the independent Polish developer studio CD PROJEKT RED managed to sell internationally over a million copies of their first game THE WITCHER. The fantasy roll game, based on the novels of the author Andrzej Sapkowski, was developed in the studio solely founded for this game in Warsaw 2002. Michal Nowakowski gives in his highlighted session insight into the secrets of the studios success, as to how, with a lot of commitment and enthusiasm, PR- and marketing operations are possible without a large budget. Moreover he will speak about legal aspects, for example the meaning of owning the rights for newly developed IP-addresses and holding them. For the past fifteen years, Nowakowski has been an important constant in the Polish games industry. After many years of being a journalist, he is working since eight years for CD PROJEKT. Today he belongs to the board of the listed company as the VP in Business Development.
