Germanys Leading Game Developers Event. Berlin, April 24-28, 2012

DGT 2011 in Berlin

The sixths DGT will be five days packed with lectures, workshops and panel discussions, providing the ideal platform for an intensive interchange of ideas and networking. Participants will include German and international game developers, publishers, investors and representatives from the entire spectrum of media industries. Some 1,000 visitors and 130 speakers came to Berlin for the DGT 2011.

Game Development and Business Festival
The conference format is unique in all of Germany. By combining business forums, media policy panels and hands-on developer workshops, the events held under the umbrella of the DGT have become the largest and most diverse German-language professional gathering in the games field. At the core is the developers’ conference Quo Vadis, the largest German trade fair for game developers, boasting numerous seminars and lectures. For the second time this year, the A MAZE. games-art festival will be part of the DGT.

Focus on New Content and New Technologies
The theme of this year’s Quo Vadis is current developments in the games industry, from new content to new technologies and distribution strategies. In addition, successful developers and publishers will present new business models and game concepts for 3D projects, and games for social media or browsers. Renowned designers will introduce designs for online and offline games.

Keynotes, Workshops, Lectures, Business Lounge
The conference is divided into three sections, “Gameplay & Design”, “Games Now & Then”, and “Business & Legal”. Well-known representatives from studios in Germany and abroad will share insider information on tried-and-tested business models, new gameplay mechanisms and the latest developments in the games sector. Renowned game designers will present their visions for the future. On top of that, there will be plenty of time and space for company presentations, exhibitions and for pitching projects. The “business lounge” will provide a pleasant and professional space for project acquisition and business negotiations.

The DGT is a cross-sector communications and networking platform for German and international game developers. It is mounted by Aruba Events with the funding of its initiator, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg.
